The blade is hand-made from Chrom-Molybdän-Vanadium-Steel. In the tradition of Solingen, it is sharpened using the 'Solinger Dünnschliff'. As a result the blade has a larger sharpening angle than mass-produced knives and is thinner providing improved and prolonged sharpness.
In addition, a 'Kesselscher Walkschliff' is applied to the spine of the blade. This technique enhances the stability of the blade but requires considerable experience and is rarely used these days.
The handle is crafted from walnut wood from France and Germany and brass studs.
