This basket has been handwoven by the indigenous Dayak Bisomu tribe in Sanggau, West Kalimantan. Traditionally used to gather produce during harvest time and store vegetable and fruits, it makes a perfect addition to a modern home.
It is made from sustainably harvested ratan 'sega' that is woven into a on open weave design that is known as 'korit'. Even though the pattern looks simple it requires considerable expertise from the craftsmen.
We work directly with the indigenous Dayak craftsmen and local NGOs and non-profit foundations to assure that each craftsmen is receiving a fair share for their high quality artisanal products.
