The Laguiole Steak Knife is a French classic. The Laguiole was first designed in 1829 by Jean-Pierre Calmels. His concept of the knife became the pattern for this style, with the forged "bee" symbol emerging as a distinctive trademark that still is applied to each knife today. The blades of these knives are made from 1.5mm stainless steel and are finished with black ABS handles. The set includes 6 knives and a beech wood box.
Founded in 1920, Jean Dubost has carried on the family tradition and love of Laguiole knives for 4 generations. The company is based in the small mountain village of Viscomtat, not far from Thiers, the capital city of French cutlery.
